On July 10, 2024, Rotary Club of Bakersfield Twilight met at the Bakersfield Museum of Art for our first meeting of the new Rotary Year where we passed the torch to our new President, Margaret Palmer!
We were first presented with some song and dance numbers in that 70's spirit from Music Fusion of the Boys and Girls Club!
Before Margaret took the stage, our very own Tony Azemika had a great inspirational moment where he shared his everyday goals:
Everyday Goals
Always be kind.
Listen first and listen more than you talk.
Always do for others when opportunity presents itself. Make sure that your servant towel is large and used.
Success in any relationship depends on being deaf from time to time.
In order to have a fulfilling life, you only need four things. Something to do. Someone or some thing to believe in. Someone to love. Something to hope for.
Life isn’t that complicated. You only need to do three things. (1) Always do the right thing. There is never a wrong time to do the right thing and there’s never a right time to do the wrong thing. (2) When ever you are doing something, do it to the best of your ability. (3) No matter what you’re doing always have fun doing it. Don’t tell people about your problems because 90% of them don’t care and the other 10% are just glad that you have problems.
Finally, ask yourself each night, how am I living my life?
-- President Margaret's motto for the new year is "Peace, Love and Rotary." --
After introducing the Board Members Club Directors for the year, she outlined her goals for the year. We can definitely achieve these milestones!
So what can we do as club members to ensure the success of our club?
How can we share with our community?
Jeremy Swanson was presented with our District Governor Recognition Award!
Garret and Anselmo were back with their signature James Bonds!
Cookies baked by our very own Jeremy McMahan!
And tons of great snacks!
And finally the day wouldn't be complete without B-RAD's Top Ten Alien Conspiracy Theories!
Great start to the year. Let's make it a great one!
