Measures of a Life*
Time inches away
from here and now
The seconds tick
As the clock strikes yet
another minute
Life measured in tempos
a rhythm of the heart
This second counts
as much as the next
just as much as the last
Each breath
Each beat
we exist
Not in a bubble
Not a microcosm
But in a big rich space
Where our existence matter
Where we can make a difference
Where love will grow and prosper
Where the next strike signals
a challenge to be conquered
A second
A minute
