On April 17th, 2024, Lucas Dobrzanski, the President of the Kern Athletic Fencing Foundation spoke at Twilight Rotary about the sport of fencing, the KAFF, and Parafencing!
Lucas talked about the different kinds of swords used in fencing, the foil, épée and sabre and how to manuever and score with each one. Lucas then talked about the KAFF, which just won "The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Award" by USA Fencing, an award given to those with unique circumstances. In the case of KAFF, it was for supporting those like Kevin Reeve, a parafencer who allowed to go to England and fence for free by their foundation. We then saw a video of Kevin training. Impressive stuff!
