Upcoming plans for Twilight Rotary involvement were shared by our Community Service Director, Mike Foster.
The immediate project involves collecting new or gently used Toddler clothing for the Jamison Center. Our support this year is focusing on sizes 3T through 6 with an emphasis on size “5.” We’re collecting by August 20th.

Community Service Project

Upcoming plans for Twilight Rotary involvement were shared by our Community Service Director, Mike Foster.
The immediate project involves collecting new or gently used Toddler clothing for the Jamison Center. Our support this year is focusing on sizes 3T through 6 with an emphasis on size “5.” We’re collecting by August 20th.
The A. Miriam Jamison Center is a 24-hour emergency shelter for neglected, abandoned and abused children within our community. The Jamison Center temporarily houses children who are taken into protective custody by law enforcement agencies or social workers. Children come to Jamison Children's Center from all backgrounds and walks of life – with only the clothes on their backs as they arrive. The Center gives them a pack-back of consumables, but clothing is a primary source of contributions required.

Donations of "gently used" children's clothing, shoes, toys and games are always welcome. Although Jamison Children's Center is funded through a county tax supported budget, government revenue is decreasing at a time when reported cases of child abuse continue to rise. Generous contributions of items and time by the people of Kern County assure the needs of children at Jamison Children's Center are met.
