On Thursday, March 5th, over 170 Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact Club members from Bakersfield and Shafter met at the Crystal Palace for the 2020 All Club Luncheon. Several District 5240 officers also attended, including the three next-in-line District Governors (Deb Linden, Dana Moldovan, and Scott Phillips) and the District Foundation Grants Sub-Committee Chair, Dave Gore. Because of his work as the District Grants Chair and all of the assistance he gave each of the Bakersfield Clubs, both individually and as a group, Dave was honored with a Paul Harris Fellow which was given in his mother’s name (she recently passed away).
The key-note speaker was Davide Di Giorgio. He is a TED talk motivational speaker and the author of Being Unapologetic. He spoke about being “Unapologetic” and “Overcoming Comparanoia” and how that relates to our daily lives and our Rotary experience.
It was a great time for Rotarians to socialize; enjoy the company of their club members, as well as members of other clubs; and have a delicious lunch.
