Lynne Hall discussed the importance of emailing her information on Make Ups.  She mentioned that she would like to capture the most accurate attendance and needs us to email or contact her with any make up dates or events.  Jim Bell (past Secretary) seconded that motion but saying what a great job Lynne is doing.

President Carol Smith went to a meeting Orange County where they had a sign with a 100% Paul Harris Fellows.  She mentioned that this is doable where a group of four can split the amount of the Paul Harris Fellow and share the honor each year.  She would like Twilight to have a 100% Paul Harris Fellows and set this as a goal for the year.  Groups are forming now.

Andrew Fishkin gave a compiling presentation on the SB1070 (immigration law).  John introduced Andrew joking that he picked Andrew to present a non controversial item.  It was interesting short talk and definitely timely.

Wedding Anniversaries - Jim and Donna Bell 35 Years, Gary and Karen 33 Years

Debra Moreno, President/CEO from the Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce presented.  She gave an overview of where the Chamber is currently at with members, roles that the Chamber plays in legislative positions and the status of business in Kern County.  The Chamber represents a diverse group with 50% of members have 20 or less employees and 20% having 2 or less.  http://www.bakersfieldchamber.org/
