On November 1st, 2023, Rotary Twilight celebrated Dia De Los Muertos and welcomed two members of Bakersfield Jazz Club! Amy Smith's first day as President saw the tables adorned with Marigolds and playing cards. She also rocked a very cool flower crown!
She started the meeting with some Blooket questions on Dia De Los Muertos where everyone joined with their phones, with the winner receiving an amazing scented candle! Great job Jeremy!
She then welcomed one of the board members from the Bakersfield Jazz Workshop, Laura Booker. Laura talked about how important Jazz and music in general (including education) is and was and how the Bakersfield Jazz Workshop gives musicians a change to participate and get educated at the same time. She and a student from BC regaled us with their great Bossa nova piece on guitar and voice!
Brad then gave us his Top 10 most annoying songs that you can't forget. He wasn't kidding!
